Good to see we've picked up a couple more followers since my last post. Sorry for the long delay in updating (long being an understatement, it's been months!). I Just wanted to let you all know that I am alive and well. Things got a little busy last semester after finishing chapter two of my most recent project and I am just now coming to a nice break where I can start writing again. I am currently coming to the end of a two month trip to Bosnia with my dad. If you care to see what we've been up to you can look at the videos I've made during our time here. My youtube channel is www.youtube.com/rickjohn66 .
Just to make you all aware, I have in fact begun working on chapter #3 of my allegory and it will be touching on modern church movements. Well, in a sense, that's what the entire book is about, however, I hope to get a little more pointed as we move foreword.
Another idea that just occurred to me as I write this, I think that once in a while as I write to you all, whether in allegory or in simple thoughts, I think I'll throw in a recommended reading or two so you can get an idea of where my mind is at and where I'm coming from. A couple books I strongly recommend and that have been some of the main inspiration of much of my allegory are Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck's "Why We're not Emergent" and "Why We Love the Church." These two books have totally changed/rescued my thinking over the past few years and I think that anyone who feels disappointed or disillusioned with todays church should give them a thorough read.
Well, I hope you are all doing well, and I should have chapter #3 up in within the next few days.
Hope to hear from you all!
